Sylvia Aguirre became a paralegal in 1994 and began working at the New Mexico Public Defenders office in 1995. After a few years, she felt she wanted to experience other parts of the country so she moved to Moscow, Idaho, Tucson, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada. Sylvia worked with the Federal Public Defender assisting with death penalty appeals and federal trials. After 10 years away, Sylvia moved back to Albuquerque. She returned to the Law Office of the Public Defender until she joined Kennedy Kennedy & Ives in 2015. Sylvia has spent her entire career working with indigent clients both as a paralegal and in the 14 years she spent working at University of New Mexico Hospital as a Health Unit Clerk. Sylvia can often be seen in line for the latest movie screening and enjoys giving her reviews to friends and family.
